The world of freelance copywriting was turned upside down the other day when Blogger managed to freeze me out of my account while trying to transfer me to its new system. Did I miss anything?
I’ve got quite a bit to do at the moment. Today I’m going to be making some changes to this site, mostly in the interests of classiness but also because I’ve been meaning to update the “free stuff” section since about 1973 and the time has come to get down to it.
The great excitement of the week is that I’ve been commissioned by a big UK publisher to co-author a business book. The contract hasn’t been signed yet, but when it has I’ll fill in the details!
10.15pm… I’ve spent most of the day nudging pixels and tinkering with XML, and I’m about ready for a break. Most of the new look is now in place, but the “clients” and “howto” sections need to be finished off, I need to revamp the copy on the rest of the main pages and there are probably a few glitches I haven’t noticed yet. I’m really annoyed with the menu text - I can’t find a web font that doesn’t look badly aliased in front of that image when viewed in IE7. I don’t want to be fiddling about with transparent GIFs, so if anyone has any bright ideas, let me know. Thanks to Adam, who has phoned me up three times in the last six hours to laughingly tell me that it all looks wrong in Firefox.
