Please note: I’m going to be unavailable from tomorrow (12 Oct) to either next Thursday or Friday (18/19), as I’m off to the wild Celtic fringes of Britain. You won’t be able to get me on the phone, but I’ll still be checking my email!
Heartfelt thanks to a couple of guys who have pointed out problems with the site over the past few days: first to Dan Howarth, for spotting that the RSS and Atom feeds weren’t working properly. It’s a long story, but it’s fixed now - thanks Dan!
Second, to Ray Field of Tin Soldier Design, who alerted me to the fact that some browser/OS configurations are having severe problems rendering the Lucida fonts I’m using. This is a slightly more complicated one to track down, as I can’t replicate the exact problem on any of my systems. But having asked around it seems that several people are experiencing it, notably in Mozilla-based browsers on Windows XP. As a result of this, I’m going to have a rethink on the fonts - I really like Lucida, but for the sake of compliance I may have to switch to Verdana or something similar.
Oh, and I know there’s a bug involving an unclosed tag in the XHTML which IE forgives but FF doesn’t - I’ll add that to the job list.
Phew: I’m meant to be a copywriter, but I seem to spend my life wading through code.
