Wretched spammers

To: diane.hewitt@pptsolutions.co.uk

Subject: Cease and desist

Dear Diane:

Yesterday, following your marketing email about Lucent, I sent you a
message requesting that you remove me from your mailing list. As you
may be aware, you have a legal requirement to comply with such
requests. See the third paragraph on this ICO.gov page.

My request for removal from your list constituted my “choosing to opt
out” under the ICO guidelines.

As I have today received another spam email  from you - this time for
pptsolutions.co.uk - I must conclude you have not removed me from your
mailing list. You are now breaking the law.

Unless you reply to this email with an assurance that I have been
removed from your list I shall forward all correspondence to the
office of the Information Commissioner.

Yours Sincerely,

Bill Hilton

Nice one. I’ve just sent off an initial email requesting/demanding removal. I might be borrowing some of your wording if she persists…

I think with our emails and Louise’s phonecall they’ve learned the error of their ways - I’ve just had an email apology.

Looking at the profiles of the people involved they seem to come from a telemarketing background. I guess they’re just not up to speed with the law and good practice when it comes to email marketing.
