Little Arabella Miller found a hairy caterpillar...

Working for start-ups is fun. You get the sense of being in at the start of an operation, and of having an influence, even if it's only
small, on the future shape of the company. Arabella Miller Limited launched at the start of October 2007. Founded
by former PR professional Alison Oultram, the company creates cool organic t-shirts for kids.
The USP is that Arabella Miller products aren't just made of organic cotton, but the whole garment, from the labels to the ink, is certified organic by the Soil Association. The target customers are young parents who are conscious of both fashion and its impact on the environment: they want their kids to be cool, but they also want them to live environmentally-friendly lives from their very earliest years. I've done a few bits and pieces of work for the company. Just before the launch I helped develop product descriptions for the online store. PDs can be very tricky things - any copywriter will tell you that the shorter the copy, the harder it is to write. The job is made easier if the products are original and interesting. Fortunately for me, Alison has developed a very strong product range, so writing the descriptions wasn't the pencil-chewing nightmare that this kind of work can become. I think Arabella Miller will do very well indeed. Alison Oultram says this about my work on the project: Thanks for the excellent contribution, Bill. You have made my job much easier and helped us to get off to a smooth start. I'll definitely be asking for your help again! back to top...back to portfolio main page... |
